A little slide show for you-

I have never really done a video of me painting, but I thought I could piece together a slide show of a collage painting in progress. It goes by quick, and you may want to turn off my blog music (bottom of page) I added my favorite Shakira song to this one. This is another large painting, 12x24 and will be available in my etsy store later today.

The title is Suburban Gypsy, lately I feel the need to move away from here, travel and explore. I have a mortgage....my husband reminds me of daily, so it looks like I will stay here for a bit. Look close, one of the hills is a map of my town. Also, ignore the no make-up and morning hairstyle :)

LARGE PAINTING --Little elves

I have been working hard on my latest painting, It is a huge 12x24- This is the largest size I have done. I did an angel this size for Haiti relief, but this painting is a little different. I used Graphic 45 papers, and added my little girls. I thought they looked like little elves, so I added the pixie hat :)

I think they will look so cute in a child's room, they have a story book feel. I hung it up in my kitchen and it looked great there too! If you look close at the hills you will see vintage adds. This paper line is called Domestic Goddess, so it does kinda go with a kitchen if you are the whimsical type :)

Sunday Treasure

The weather is finally warm today, so we drove down to Burlington, Kentucky for lunch at the historical Tousey House Tavern. The food was fabulous and we are planning a return on Tuesday for our anniversary.

I was a day late, but I still got to see the beautiful side walk art at the Burlington KY Sidewalk Chalk festival- Here is a peek

After lunch, I found a quaint vintage book store full of treasures from the past. I took home a vintage Websters Dictionary, a hardbound 1930 edition of Alice in Wonderland (this one is going to my little sister...the literary collector) and a 1926 hardbound black cover of Little Women. I'd say it was a great day.

Rain, rain and more rain.....

Not so pretty today, I feel like I may float away if the rain doesn't stop soon. I finished three collage paintings this week. I am waiting for the rain to stop and the sun to shine, so I can get good photos. All I have is a sneek peek of them drying on the table. These are patriotic angels and a flower collage I created with Graphic 45 paper. G45 is one of my all time favorite lines for my paper collection, I love the vintage reproduction papers. I buy it whenever I see it, and I hold on to it......always waiting for just the perfect project. This flower painting is done with the Domestic Goddess line, if you look close at the flowers you'll see spoons and forks :)

The angels are done in distressed red, creams and weathered blues. I have two I will list this on ETSY, as soon as the sun comes back :) I have a blonde and brunette, both with a Independence theme. They will arrive from Independence, Kentucky- so they are "officially" patriotic and perfect for summer!

I'm a GYPSY........

Inspired from my latest favorite song (as you can tell from my blog player) GYPSY HEART-

This is an original done on wood- 6x12 Click here to see the full painting

I chose a deep hue of midnight blue with pops of bright pink. She is holding her tambourine and flowers adorn her hair. I used bits of vintage lace paper ( great etsy find by me!) to add to her dress. I added glitter to this one and used metallic paints as accents. I really like this piece, I think she has a soulful look in her eyes.
Yesterday it was about 85 degrees here in the bluegrass state, but as they say in Kentucky if you hate the weather wait 24 hours.....Today it is 53 we may not even reach 60 degrees!!! I am wearing two shirts and a huge sweater, yesterday I sat in the sun in a tank top and shorts! CRAZY!!! sorry for weather vent.... back to business. If you are on facebook please feel free to fan/like or friend me!! You can find me under Andrea Seiler and fan page Andrea T Designs. I can update you on the weather there..just kidding :) All my shop updates are there as well as my personal shopping updates, I love to share my ETSY finds on facebook. See you there!
