I came across a great set of word stamps called "She said" a few weeks ago. This set was created by Donna Downey for Unity. My first thought was, I have to have these....they are a perfect fit with my art girls........so here they are!! I worked on this group all week, they are 6x6 on wood. I painted, and collaged my girls and stamped the words on each one. They would make a great girly gift for a graduation, birthday or any day. The words are inspiring and powerful. I gave them each a name so I could keep track of them. The group is cute together, but each one is unique and would look perfect alone too. These are listed in my ETSY store. Hope is FAITH.....

Here is the painting I have been struggling with for weeks. Not my best, and not my favorite. I have re- painted this three or four times, and now I am just calling it quits. I wanted to do something dark, like night. I found this quote "Hope is faith holding it's hand out in the dark"....... I love it, I pictured a flower peeking out through the dark forest floor. Nothing was working so the next idea...... I thought about a butterfly, like a bit of color in a dark surrounding. Maybe..... I tried to work it without a girl.... with a girl. Girl stays- add a butterfly. Tried of trying. Sums up my summer. I am going to cover this in wax, its dark and dirty. My poor girl looks tired and ragged......looks like how I feel. Maybe if I finish this up and move on I will feel better :) UGH! Monday morning.

On a lighter note, I saw Eat, Pray Love, it was ok. I did not expect much. The movie never compares to the book. I was surprised of the change up in the stories. I liked it though.

This is just a quick shop update, I just listed three new originals in my ETSY shop. These were made a few weeks ago and are still available from my gallery show last month. I will pick them up tomorrow, I just had time so I thought I would list them until the fall art shows. I want to thank everyone who came to see my things in the Creative Hands studio and supporting my art. It means so much to me to have the support of family and friends when you are venturing into new endeavors :).......next up- spooky fall girls! I have been working on larger pieces for an art show. I went ahead and listed an original in my ESTY store. This piece was inspired by my love for Jane Austen novels and of course, the movies! I plan to re-read my favorites this winter but until then I will paint my girls in their vintage attire. This is a crop photo, the full photo is on the ETSY listing

~The Sisterhood~

Inspired by Somerset Studio and the "Sisterhood of the traveling canvas" I created this piece celebrating sisters of all kinds. I myself have three sisters, but this collage is more of a celebration of women. We are all sisters in life and this piece came from from the inspiration of girls, ladies, women of all ages.

Just BREATHE........

I say this to myself all the time. I think it helps calm my nerves. I have set my ETSY stores on vacation mode, and finished up my auctions until August. We will be leaving in 10 days to visit St Augustine FL ---I am so excited and stressed so I just keep telling myself to just breathe. I painted myself a reminder :0)

Scrapbook layouts DONE!

After a long break I finally got 4 scrapbook layouts finished! Only one will make it to EBAY, the others are going to a home here locally. I will try to get a couple of July layouts done....but that will be a busy month for me (VACATION!!!!). I did my first BEAR necessities paper piecing class this past Saturday at Scraps Etc. in Florence Ky. We had a great turnout, everyone did a fantastic job. I hope all of new paper piecing students had fun, I know I did! The layouts looked great! Why did I forget my camera?

ANYWAY.......I did some painting this weekend and finished a few angels. These are more little mini paintings, and will be listed on EBAY tomorrow night. This angel reminds me of Lucille Ball :0)

I am back on a diet :0( We planned a vacation for July, so maybe that will help keep me on track. I am counting points, if you have done the Weight Watchers plan you know how hard that is....... UGH! I try to work on my art instead of obsess about food. Any other suggestions?
