Cowgirl UP!

I am feeling a little western this week. I created a couple of 6x12 paintings on wood that have a western feel. The first is "Don't fence me in" this is for all you free spirited girls out there :) She is wearing a dress covered in vintage doilies and boots. I did not add a hat, because I hate to cover their hair, she does have a country styled dress. She is standing on vintage map pages and has old buttons on her dress. She is listed in my ETSY store CLICK HERE to see more

I also listed a angel, you will have to wait til tomorrow to see her, unless you stop by my ETSY shop :)

Every angel will be unique! I finish the back with vintage lace paper and add the pin. The photos were done quick, I wanted to get a couple listed for mother's day. I am enclosing a guardian angel prayer and gift wrapping each one. Perfect gift for mom! Listed in my ETSY store:andreatdesigns.etsy.com

New Originals-

This week I'm listing my original collages on ETSY. I do have a set of cards listed on ebay, but I am going to list on ETSY first and really concentrate on that store for a while.

Just added to my shop is this Garden Angel, click here to see the entire painting She is done on wood, I used vintage buttons and paper on her dress. She has dark brown hair and blue eyes. The quote that inspired me is one from William Shakespeare- "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin."

I thought it was appropriate for earth day, coming up this week. This would make a great mother's day gift, unique and one of a kind :) All my items will arrive gift wrapped, you will be all set for mothers day!

Back from the beach

I took a great spring break with my sister and her kids. We visited Pensacola beach and had a wonderful time. The weather was great, and I needed to feel the warm sunshine. My husband stayed home with our dogs. My oldest dog Parker was diagnosed with cancer last fall and held on as long he could. When I got home his conditioned was much worse. We lost him this past Friday. He was friendly loving dog and part of my heart is missing.

Now if I can stop crying, I will get back to business :) This piece was finished just before vacation, entitled "Soul Sister" One of the dresses is made with a cool vintage lace paper. It will be available in print soon. I am going to hold on to the original for a fall art show.

Angel Wings

Just wanted to show you these great wire wings I found! My first thought is, great for a doll! I just finished taking an online doll making class. Cloth and Clay dolls from Gritty Jane This class was great, I learned to create a doll from cloth and paper clay......my doll however, not so cute. I need to practice.....a bunch. Sculpting a face is much more difficult than I expected. I will need to work on this :) I wish I could show you a photo, but she is really ugly :( ANYWAY.......

I wanted to use the wings, so I added them to a wood piece and created a hanging collage. Here it is, and I did list this angel collage on EBAY. Click here to bid

Angel for Haiti

I know you are watching the news coverage of the terrible tragedy in Haiti, the loss of life and destruction is so hard to see. This morning I decided to create an angel for Haiti, I have a large 12x24 wood plank that I have been wanting to use. I am going to auction this on EBAY with 100% of the proceeds going to one of the charities listed by Mission Fish. This is a peek at what I have finished so far. I hope to have her listed by Wednesday.

I encourage all of my blogging art friends to do the same :) If you are like me you have a bunch of extra half painted canvas and wood just waiting to be re-worked , finished or just started. Take a little time and create something beautiful that can help the need. I have auctioned with Mission Fish before its really easy and safe for the bidder. You know your money is going to help those in need.

Please blog about my auction when its up, I will be happy to do the same for you, just let me know. Add me as a friend on Face book or my fan page page (I just started it; links are on the right) to keep up to date on my listings.
