This month sucks

That is the only way I can sum this up. We have had an unbelievably bad month, first my over price fridge quits (as usual warranty is up) next up... car breaks down. Last Saturday night take husband to ER, still do not know what is wrong, we have to wait a week for a follow up. Two days later my poor sweet dog starts with a horrific nose bleed. I rush him to the vet, they say cancer, on to a veterinary internist who does an expensive nose procedure and cannot confirm the cancer, The worst part is (besides my house is now covered in blood stains) my dog seems to be in worst condition than he was after his nose stopped bleeding on its own. All I can think about is I made the wrong choice in trying to get to the bottom of the nose bleed. I need some good news and lots of prayers.

Monday morning in my studio....

I'm working on Christmas angels, magnets and pendants. I made a few hanging boxes for ornaments. I listed a few wood minis on Ebay last night, but most are going to the Pinkfest in November. I did list a bulk order of magnets in my ETSY store. 20 artist pick for $20 These would be great for secret Santa, or to hand out to friends during the holiday. I will only list this once, because most of these will be sold at my up coming events, so don't waste any time starting your Christmas shopping :)

So much to do....

just a quick post to let you know I'm still here! I am working like crazy to get ready for an upcoming event (maybe two, still contemplating ) I am also packing up items to send to a new handmade boutique in Winchester, KY. I will get that info out soon :) Here is a peek at a mini I am saving for my art show.
I used grunge board letters on this plaque. I painted and distressed them, I think they are kinda cool!

The PIXIE Cottage

I told you a while back about The Pixie Cottage stamp line. This is an update on my new stamp line sold EXCLUSIVELY at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More. I am on the design team with a great group of exceptionally talented artist and crafts people. I hope I can keep up, I have been deep into paint for the last few months and now I need to get back into "stamp" mode.

The first card I created was a quicky. Hopefully over the next few weeks I can get my creative juices flowing and really come up with something unique. ANYWAY, this stamp was made from a painting I did. The little girl is some what of a self portrait, seeing this as a stamp, kinda freaks me out, but that is a whole other issue ;)

I designed this stamp the same way I sketch all of my girls---- I am going to cut off her head. A little tip I learned from Suziblu, after I sketch and color, off goes the head. NOW, I don't have a thing for the queen of hearts, but when I reattach the head, I can tilt it and give her just a bit of movement. I think it makes my girls look a little more real, and not just staring straight into space.

I used this technique with the card I created. After the girl was water colored I cut off her head, I then reattached the head to the body. I raised her up with pop dots to add dimension. I inked this card like crazy, the print paper is K&Company and the butterflies are stickers from HL. The word stamp is from Clear Designs. The stamp of my little girl is my design from my Southend Girl collection. If you would like to add this stamp to your collection she can only be found at Michelles Scrapbooking and More. If you purchase this stamp, be sure to let me know. I will feature you and your creation right here on my blog, and you may just even receive a little surprise from me ;)

you spin me right ROUND baby.....

right ROUND, like a record baby, right ROUND round round. Do you have that tune stuck in your head yet? That was the song stuck in my head while I searched for wood rectangles this morning but only found ROUND. My magnets have done well this week and I am now on a limited supply, until I find more rectangles. So here is a batch of ROUND circle style wood magnets. I cleared out my local HL and now I will be on a quest for the perfect wood pieces to create more fridge art. These circle magnets, full of FACE, turned out so cute. They are 2 inches across and finished in high gloss. I will get them listed in my ETSY store in the next day or two. Feel free to convo me if you want to claim a couple now. I will set you up a custom ETSY listing.

More magnets!

I have just finished a huge group of wood magnets. I listed these in my ETSY store They are 2 for $5-- your choice on the design. They are limited so please don't wait.

The rain is keeping me away from my favorite art show in Louisville, St. James Court. This is a really big event and draws crowds from surrounding states and all over. If the sun comes out I may go home for the event, its a two hour drive from here :( Missing this show is one of the things I miss the most about home. I love to walk through the streets of old Louisville and take in all of the sites and yummy smells of fall. The art is amazing and a joy to take in. If I get there this weekend I will be sure to take a few pics.
